Shades of Wellness was born from my belief that healing is not one-size-fits-all; it exists in many shades, shaped by culture, history, community, and lived experience. I created this space to explore wellness through an African-centered, biblical, spiritual, and psychological lens, honoring ancestral wisdom, Scripture, and modern mental-health practice as complementary paths toward wholeness.
My work sits at the intersection of storytelling, nervous-system awareness, cultural healing, and spiritual discernment. I draw from the Bible’s teachings on renewal, truth, rest, and restoration — “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2), alongside the insights of Black scholars, therapists, and spiritual teachers who understand healing as both personal and collective. At the heart of Shades of Wellness is a simple truth: the body remembers, the spirit knows, and God heals through both truth and tenderness when we learn to listen.
I write and speak about relational healing, boundaries, historical trauma, emotional resilience, ancestral memory, spiritual warfare, and discernment; all rooted in the belief that true wellness is not aesthetic or performative, but deeply embodied, biblically grounded, emotionally honest, and spiritually aligned.
Shades of Wellness is a space for those seeking healing that is both sacred and practical, where faith meets emotional wisdom, where ancestral knowing meets Scripture, and where peace becomes more than survival… it becomes a way of living.
